Can I come and visit your shop?

We're open for shopping, browsing and chatting 10am-4pm on:

Monday* - Wednesday - Friday - Saturday 

*We'll be closed on Bank Holiday Mondays 

Why do you sell your fabric in 1/4m (25cm) units? 

Just to offer a little bit more flexibility, we know different projects call for different amounts of fabric so hopefully this allows you to order as close as possible to the actual amount you need.  

I placed an order but it hasn't arrived yet, what should I do? 

Check out all our delivery details here - if your parcel hasn't arrived 5 days after posting then please get in touch (hello@thesewingcafe.co.uk or 01455 698034) with your order number, please note that Royal Mail will only class a parcel as missing 10 working days after posting.

My order has arrived but it contains an incorrect or faulty item, what should I do? 

Please get in touch as soon as possible, with your order number, so that we look in to any issues and get them rectified for you. 

I've purchased something but I've now changed my mind - can I get a refund? 

Please note, fabric, ribbon or trims (anything that is cut to your required length) are non-refundable, unless faulty. We ask that any refunds or exchanges are requested within 28 days of purchase, with a proof or purchase and all packaging complete and in tact. 

How does Sew-by-the-hour work? Can I just turn up? 

We do ask that you get in touch (by calling 01455 69034) in advance, to double check that we have space and availability, this also means we can make sure we have specific equipment or sewing machine feet available for you. For full Sew-by-the-hour details click here. 

I'm interested in buying a sewing machine, but would like to have a go on a couple first...

No problems, we sell Janome sewing machines and have a variety of machines that you can come and have a play on, or test drive! If possible, it's best to get in touch to arrange a time to come in - this means we can make sure someone is available to help you, talk you through any of the machines, and show you how they work.  

How does Click and Collect work? 

- at the check out you'll still need to enter a shipping address

- once you get to the shipping options select 'Collect' 

- if there is anything you'd like that you can't find online, then add a note in the 'comments' section at the checkout and we can add it in for you

- orders must be placed by 4pm the previous day, to be ready for collection

- you will receive an email notification once your order is ready for collection  

- orders can be collected from 10.30am on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday

I have a gift voucher, but the code won't work online?

We have two different types of gift vouchers: 

e-voucher - which can be redeemed online or in our shop - the voucher has a 12 character code in the top right hand corner, and will have been emailed to you.

physical voucher - which can only be redeemed in our shop (not online) - this postcard sizes voucher with a 5 digit code in the bottom right hand corner

If you have a physical voucher but are unable to visit the shop, then you can always call us (01455 698034) and we can take your order and redeem your voucher over the phone.
