Is this workshop for me?

If you're a total beginner, then yes! We'll go right from the very beginning of using a sewing machine, so perfect if you're just starting out but also great if you're looking to re-start sewing after some time away from the machine or looking to recap the basics, or you just fancy making a shopper bag!

What will this workshop cover?

- How to set up your sewing machine, including winding a bobbin, threading your machine and selecting the right stitch

- Top tips for straight stitching, how to start and finish you stitches and using a zig-zag stitch

- Building confidence on the sewing machine

- Creating your own pattern to make a shopper bag size to suit your needs

- Pinning your pattern and tips to make cutting out a breeze

- How to construct your own shopper bag, complete with lining and strong webbing handles, adding boxed out corners if you wish.

This workshop is your opportunity to really get to grips with a sewing machine, with the opportunity to ask questions, build confidence and just have a good play under the watchful eye of your tutor.
